"I hope “Sheriff” will achieve big successes in European club tournaments one day"

The Cup has remained in Tiraspol
The VIII International Youth Tournament “Sheriff Cup-2011” which was held in the Covered Stadium of Sports Complex “Sheriff” came to an end. This time, kids born in 2000 contended for the first prize. The tournament turned out interesting and fascinating and the destiny of the first prize was decided on the last day of the competition.

“Sheriff” Tiraspol and “Metallist” Kharkov struggled for the main trophy. The Ukrainian team needed the victory. Before the last leg they dropped 2 points behind the leader. But the guests failed to gain the result. Our guys were at their best once again. The draw 1-1 gave the opportunity to Nikolay Tsurkan’s team to win the first place. And the standings were as follows:
VI place: FC “Smena-Obolon” Kiev, the best player of the team – Mahut Dimidjiev.
V place: FC “Buykany-Dacia” Chisinau, the best player of the team – Ricardo Moroy.
IV place: FC “Minsk”, the best player of the team – Andrey Kolomatsky.
III place: FC “Tiraspol”, the best player of the team – Roman Plotyan.
II place: FC “Metallist” Kharkov, the best player of the team – Fedor Ovakimyan.
The “Sheriff” Cup was won by home team “Sheriff”, coach – Nikolay Tsurkan, the best player of the team – Denis Makalich.
The Organizing Committee named the best players of the tournament:
Goalkeeper – Dmitry Marakura, FC “Metallist”.
Defender – Nikita Melnik, FC “Sheriff”.
Midfielder – Artem Milchenko, FC “Metallist”.
Forward – Nicki Kleschenko, FC “Buykany-Dacia”.
Scorer – Nikolay Solodovnikov, FC “Sheriff”, 5 goals scored in 5 matches.
After the solemn ceremony of closing the tournament, manager of Football Academy “Sheriff” Evgeny Molovata shared his impressions:
“First of all, I congratulate our team on the victory. Before the tournament two tasks were set: the first one – to show the high level of play and the second – final result. The first task was performed with “satisfactory” grade because our players not always managed to control the ball. The second task was performed successfully and our guys won the first place. In conclusion, I would like to congratulate everybody on the victory since all of us contributed to this winning.”
